Typical cases
- Severe burn damage on the TCM board
- Water or corrosion damage
- No communication and normal repair is no longer viable
- Previous repair damage
- Original data needed before fitting a replacement module
When a transmission control module is burnt, corroded, badly damaged or completely non-communicating, the hardware may be beyond normal repair but the original vehicle-specific data can still be worth recovering.
Inspection and recovery attempt on the original TCM. No recovery, no recovery fee.
Data recovery is not covered by the same-day promise because badly damaged units can require extended bench work.
Send photos first if the unit is visibly burnt or physically damaged. We will tell you whether it is worth posting.
If you also want recovered data written to a compatible donor, TCM cloning is a separate £99 service unless agreed otherwise before the work starts.
For burnt or visibly damaged modules, photos save postage when the board is clearly beyond any realistic recovery attempt.
